Before Watchmen: Minutemen #1 Review (COMICS!)

It has finally arrived!!!!

So, DC Comics announced a while back that they would be releasing prequel stories to the companies famed Graphic Novel: Watchmen. I even appeared on the show one day, and talked of my feelings towards it. I might have shocked Dan when I said I was excited! At first, I wasn’t pissed off, or excited, I was just neutral on the idea. However, when I saw the creative teams involved, I instantly became excited! Now, the first issue in the line has arrived, but is it any good? Click the photo, and find out for yourself! Enjoy the episode!

Green Lantern Is Gay?!?! (COMICS!)

So, As I mentioned in a previous post, DC Comics had mentioned that a major iconic character of theirs would come out of the closet. Well, that character has finally been revealed. It is…..Green Lantern! However, Its not the Green Lantern from the movie. I’m sure most will think that, but trust me when I say its not. The Gay Green Lantern is, in fact, the original Green Lantern: Alan Scott. He is going to be reintroduced into the DC Comics New 52 with issue #2 of Earth 2. Marvel Hosts a Gay Wedding!!! (COMICS!)

Same-Sex Marriage has been a hot button topic for quite a long while. Its been a heavy news topic recently when President Obama voted in favor of gay marriage. Now, in the world of Mainstream comics, writers and creators always try to keep current and tell relevant stories. Well, Marvel Is doing just that in their Astonishing X-Men series. Known Gay superhero, Northstar, is finally getting hitched to his long time boyfriend in issue #51 of the series. Also, DC made a some what similar announcement this past weekend. An iconic character from DC, whom has yet to be introduced in the New 52, will come out of the closet. As to whom it will be, your going to have to wait till June to find out. Personally, I don’t see the issues with gay marriage. Love is love, no matter if its between a man and a woman, a man and a man, or a woman and a woman. Its nice to see comics telling this kind of story. Yes, it could easily be a publicity stunt, but still. Click the picture above to checkout the latest episode of COMICS! Apparently, when Ol’ Honest Abe wasn’t running the country he was hunting down those damned creatures of the night. Normally on COMICS! we don’t talk about movies that aren’t based on comic books, but i couldn’t help it! Plus, the trailer looks like the story is based on a comic, don’t it? Yes! The hit AMC show is back after a long and painful hiatus. Last time this happened to me was with Doctor Who series six. Who of the many celebrities, and interesting personalities that have been on the show over the years? Listen and find out! The Director’s Cut vs. Alice in Wonderland

Alice In Wonderland
Alice In Wonderland

This week on the Director’s Cut Dan and Ollie truly find themselves in wonderland. They have guests, callers, and the show is (as hard as it is to believe) pretty funny. As always, they do their review of the movie, but this week Dan introduces The Big Sausage Game! There’s no Davenport pick this week, but some of our listeners try their luck against the devilish genius of Dan Gutierrez and Debra West. Just ask yourself: what would it sound like to say the Director’s Cut with your mouth stuffed with a giant sausage?
