It’s finally here! After getting nothing but pictures for so long, I’m happy to say the trailer for Batman v Superman is here! Hell, this weekend was a big trailer bonanza! I mean, we have a new Star Wars trailer, Batman Superman, Fantastic 4, Jurassic World, the list goes on! However, it’s pretty obvious which one I’m most interested in. Question is, did I like said trailer….hmmm. That’s an excellent question. If you want to know the answer, just click on that awesome new Batman Superman poster! It will take you directly to my reaction video! Also, side note, I have some cool news. This week, in Chicago, a big comic event is being held called C2E2. It’s run by the same people who started New York Comic Con. I’m going to help out my local comic shop, Bill’s Books and More in Canton Ohio, set up their table and sell some product! I’m incredibly excited! I love big comic conventions, and I’ve never been to Chicago before. So this will be a new and awesome experience! So, if you are attending C2E2 this week, come by and say hello! I’m be the nerd in the Batman shirt! Totally narrows that down! Anyway, enjoy the video! And if you like it, give it a thumbs up and Subscribe for more! Lastly, enjoy the other new Batman v Superman poster! Equally as awesome!

Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor!!! (COMICS!)

SEE! I told you it was gonna be awesome!

So, we have slowly been getting first looks at all the various characters that will be appearing in the DC Cinematic Universe. Mainly just the cast of Batman V. Superman. First we had a look at Batman. Followed by Superman and Wonder Woman at Comic Con. And most recently we saw the awesome Jason Momoa as Aquaman! However the one character we’ve all been curious about mostly, and you know it’s true don’t deny it, is Lex Luthor. Now, after a really LONG wait, we’ve finally got our first look! Zack Snyder, director of Man of Steel and Batman V. Superman, had an interview of Entertainment weekly. And along with the interview, we got our first look at Lex! I’ve always been a supporter of the Eisenberg casting since I heard it. It’s not the first choice, but it’s an excellent choice anyway. And now seeing him as Lex makes me even more ecstatic! Eisenberg looks incredible! Very sinister and maniacal. Now all I wanna see is that trailer! GET THE HECK ON IT WARNER BROS! Anyway, what do you all think of this? Let me know in the comments!

Fantastic 4 Trailer Review (COMICS!)

10922667_841218145935517_9056852729112896797_n

Before I even start this review, I should probably let you in on something. Something to help you, the reader, understand where my point of view is coming from. I have never cared for, nor have I ever liked, the Fantastic 4. I’ve read a few of the comics, both Ultimate and Regular universe, and non of them ever really caught my attention. I mean, yea they got some cool abilities. But so do so many other superheroes that I like 10 times more. Honestly, the only other character I like less than the Fantastic 4 is Spider-Man. Yea. I said it, and I’ll say it again. I DON’T LIKE SPIDER-MAN! I’m getting off topic. Nothing new, right?

Anyway, while I may not like F4, It’s become quite obvious lately that many many MANY people do. How do I know this? Because of all the constant hate this new Fantastic 4 reboot has been getting. I mean, fans must really care about F4 to give Fox this much crap about a movie that’s not even out yet, right? ALL ABOARD THE HATE-TRAIN! CHOO CHOO! Next stop…wait! THERE ARE NO STOPS ON THE HATE-TRAIN! CHOO CHOO! I’m….so sorry about that. I have no idea where that came from.

In all seriousness, I don’t really get why there is so much hate for this movie. Or any other movie based on a comic. It’s just getting annoying, you know? I get it. You’re upset, but will this really ruin your life? No. No it won’t. You’re life will be just fine. Why? Well, I shouldn’t have to explain why. I’m getting off topic again. DAMN YOU ADHD! SO! What did I think of this new trailer? It’s alright. To be honest, It’s not exactly the most amazing teaser I’ve ever seen. Actually, it’s kind of generic. It pretty much used the typical CBM teaser formula that you’ve seen many others use. That being said, I still found myself interested in what I saw. Not really loving what I saw, but interested. Curious.

First off, it seems like the film is going for a more sci-fi vibe. And not just any sci-fi vibe, It looks like they are trying to mimic Nolan, Kubrick, and Cronenberg. Not even kidding! You watch the trailer, and You’ll think they jacked actual shots from films directed by all three of those guys. I was waiting for the Monolith to start floating around behind Mr. Fantastic. It actually kind of took me out of the trailer a bit. It’s nice to try and mimic the vibe of someone else’s work, but don’t rip them off! Not that they are blatantly ripping off anyone, it just feels like it. That’s just going too far.

I do, however, like that the trailer does evoke a heavy sci-fi vibe. Something that could really work for Fantastic 4. If done well, of course. One thing I wish they showed more of is the team themselves. You see them pre-powers, but not much as the team itself. Because of the this, the trailer seemed like some random science fiction movie. You wouldn’t have known it was Fantastic 4 until they showed the title. Again, I like that they are making it more of a science fiction movie, but you can’t forget that it’s also a superhero movie. Over all, I’m not really super excited to see Fantastic 4. I am curious about it, though. I really do hope this does well. Just so I can watch all the angry fans start to praise it. As if that’s how they felt the entire time. Anyway, what did YOU think of the Fantastic 4 trailer? Let us know in the comment section below! Also, if you haven’t see the trailer yet, click on the picture above! And, as always, have a nice day!

Marvel Announces Phase 3 of the MCU! (COMICS!)

Phase 3

I know I’m a little late on posting about this, but at least I’m doing it now! Better late than never, right? At least, I think so. Anyway, Marvel has just made a HUGE announcement! Seeing as how phase two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU for short, is just about wrapped up, Marvel felt it was time to reveal their plans for phase three. An entire line-up of movies were announced at a big event, and they even showed off a few clips from their next blockbuster event Avengers: Age of Ultron. Now, this is exciting to hear. However, I’m just not as excited as I probably should be. It’s kind of strange, but I’m just not leaping off my couch right away. I mean, there are a few titles I’m over the moon about. One of those being Captain Marvel. I really love Carol Danvers, as well as her most recent comic book adventures, so It’s exciting to see her getting a film soon. All Marvel has to do now is cast the right actress AKA Katee Sackhoff. Honestly, there really isn’t another perfect choice than Sackhoff. Lets get real, people!

Other than that, I’m just not pumped up about this. I mean, I feel like it’s a bit of overkill. I think I have Marvel fatigue, man! It’s just Marvel Marvel Marvel all the time, and It’s becoming over whelming. Also, we just got a trailer for Age of Ultron! Why are we getting a teaser trailer for Avengers 3? Can’t we just focus on that as apposed to what’s coming in four years? You know, I might not even see those movies in 2018 because the fatigue will have grown and festered inside me. Okay that sounded kind of gross. I’m very sorry about that. Obviously, I’m going to be in the minority on this. Especially with the loads of fans excited to see these movies, but It just seems like a bit much. Again, this is probably just me.

Truthfully, It is exciting as hell to see that there will be movies based on characters we’ve never seen on the big screen before. Same goes to DC and Warner Bros. They announced an entire line-up a while ago, and that was very exciting. Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, The Flash, Shazam, and more are finally coming to the theater! At the end of the day, I’ll probably see these new Marvel films. Hopefully I’ll like them, and leave the theater a happy nerd. That’s what I hope for, ultimately. However, it probably won’t change the way I feel. Anyway, let us know what your most excited about with these phase three films! Also, as a special treat, if you click on the image you’ll be taken to a clip/trailer combo for Avengers: Age of Ultron! Trust me when I say this, It’s a pretty rad video!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Movie Review (NO SPOILERS!)

Winter is coming….FOR CAPTAIN AMERICA!!!!

HEY! HEY YOU! YEA YOU! YOU JERK! How are you today? I’m not bad, but I could be better. More bummed out, if anything. Why and I bummed out? Well, I missed out on the Captain America: The Winter Soldier review on TDCRS yesterday! I mean, I’m the comic book nerd! It’s pretty much mandatory for me to show up at some point! Now, I don’t blame Dan or the gang. I was work tired, which means I was tired from my regular job, and decided to just nap the day away. I don’t normally take naps, because of their evil powers to take the days away from us, but I couldn’t resist my bed. Thus, I missed out on calling in to spew my thoughts on Cap 2.

Thankfully, for those who care enough, I do movie reviews on YouTube all the time! Especially when it comes to comic book films. Long story short, I reviewed Captain America: The Winter Soldier! That’s right! So, if you were equally as bummed out because you didn’t hear me talk Cap…then this should just make your day! You know, I gotta get Dan and the crew on one of my videos. That would be pretty sweet! I have no clue what we would talk about. Obviously something movie related, for sure. In fact, I think it would be a live video. That would be pretty awesome. Some day….some day. Anyway, if you want to hear my take on Captain America: The Winter Soldier, just click the pic above! That will take you directly to the video on YouTube! ALSO, if you like what you see, go ahead and click that beautiful subscribe button. LATER!

HELLO EVERYONE!!! Man, it feel’s like it’s been forever since I posted something! How have you all been? Good? Bad? Hopefully the former and not the latter. ANYWAY, I am back and I’m ready to rock! For today, I have a video game review…and a Movie review and a Blu-Ray review.

That’s right, folks. I review three big geeky things in my latest video. First up, I take a look at the blu-ray release for the most loved and hated superhero movie of 2013: Man of Steel. If you don’t remember, I actually enjoyed the film a lot, especially after a few more viewings, but how is the blu-ray? Watch the video and find out!

Also, I take a look at Thor: The Dark World, which is the latest film released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I was incredibly excited to see this movie. I mean, who wouldn’t be? You have a Game of Thrones director tackling Thor! Who wouldn’t be pumped! All that being said, was it all worth it in the end? Again, watch the video and find out! Finally, I review the latest Batman game to hit the shelves: Arkham Origins.

This item takes top billing this week, mainly because I felt this would grab more attention than the other two things. Either way, all of this stuff is reviewed! It’s pretty exciting, right? Anyway, as usual, if you want to watch the videos, click on the pretty picture above! Also, if you like what you see, go ahead and subscribe to my YouTube channel: Channel23hahaha!

BatFleck: The Silver Linings (COMICS!)

Batfleck

“Argo f@*k yourself, Superman.” (Can this please be a line in Batman vs. Superman?)

As you may have heard, Warner Bros has announced that Ben Affleck will be playing Batman in the Man of Steel Sequel, also known as Batman vs. Superman, coming in 2015. If you HAVEN’T heard about this, GUESS WHAT?!?! Anyway, when I first heard this news, I turned into a raging fanboy. I was so upset about all of this! I belted out things like “WTF IS THIS S#!t!” and “Affleck?! NO! NO! NO!” It got pretty ugly, let me tell you! However, as time had past, I was able to calm myself. I was able to think on this news rationally and logically. At this point, I had made my Affleck as Batman video, which I posted on this site, giving my thoughts on this news. Spoiler Alert, I basically said I’ll give Affleck a chance. While I don’t think I can see Affleck in the role without me going “That’s just Affleck as Batman”, I’m willing to give him a shot. Because, the thing is, you can’t judge someone’s performance without even seeing it. It’s not fair to the performer, you know?

Now, unlike myself, it seems the internet has continued to rage on and on about this. So much so, that fans have started to make petitions and death threats. Yea, I’m not even kidding you. Fans are so mad about this, they have made petitions and death threats because Ben Affleck is playing Batman. Seriously? Seriously, fanboys? Why are you making Batman fans look bad? First you attack critics about hating on The Dark Knight Rises, and now this? FOR SHAME, BATMAN FANS! So, because of this continued rage fest on BatFleck, I felt I should make a part 2. A second take on this news that, hopefully, will show fans a few silver linings in having Ben Affleck as Batman. Silver linings, mind you, that have come from a Batman fanboy whom still doesn’t see him in the role!

Silver Lining #1: Ben Affleck is a comic book fan

It’s been stated in the past that Affleck is, in fact, a big comic book fan. I mean, with friends like Kevin Smith and his crew, your bound to end up being a fan! This is a great thing because Affleck can use his knowledge of the source material, and apply that to his performance. That’s exactly what he did when he played Daredevil! Granted, Daredevil isn’t a well liked film, even by Affleck, its safe to say he wasn’t the reason it wasn’t good. In fact, while I didn’t love him, he was probably my favorite thing about that movie. Affleck was able to capture the true essence of the character, even if it was hard to see him as Daredevil without seeing Affleck. This is especially the case in the awesome director’s cut of the film, which I just watched today! So, to have a fan of the source material playing the role is a big benefit, I think.

Silver Lining #2: The guy looks like a superhero

You have to admit, with that jaw and his good looks, the man looks like a superhero. I mean, if he didn’t, director’s wouldn’t have cast him as a Daredevil or George Reeves as Superman, am I right? Admittedly, I do think Affleck should bulk up a bit, which He has started doing, but other then that he has the look. Plus, if you look up some of the photoshop work of Affleck as Batman, you might be surprised how great he looks. Again, it’s just a photoshop, but it still looks great:

Silver Lining #3: The possibility of Ben Affleck directing the Batman reboot!

This is probably my biggest silver lining! It’s so big that, if it were announced in the next few weeks, I’d be a BatFleck super fan! As it is well known, Affleck has been trying to start a career as a director. So far, the guy has yet to miss a step! Gone Baby Gone, The Town, and Argo are, in my opinion, three of the best films to come out in the past few years! So, now that he is cast as Batman, we are that much closer to the possibility of Affleck directing a Batman film! How f@*king awesome would that be, huh? It would be the greatest news ever! I mean, the simple notion of him being asked to direct a Justice League movie a while ago was exciting. To be honest, I could see Affleck making BatFilms far superior to Nolan’s! YEP! I SAID IT! SO, DEAL WITH IT!

So, those are my silver linings to BatFleck! Hopefully this will calm down some of the nerd rage. I doubt it will for many reasons, but I hope it helps, anyway. At the end of the day, and I’m sure this is true for other BatFans as well, all I really want is a great live action portrayal of Batman on screen. As I’ve said in the past, I don’t feel there has been a perfect live action Batman performance yet, but there have been great versions. If Ben Affleck can deliver that performance, then that will be awesome! I will gladly stand corrected, and support Affleck all the way! In conclusion, I say this: To all the BatFans out there. If someone with similar thoughts can find the silver linings to BatFleck, can’t you?
